If you hit it slightly by accident, in a very slow almost negligible speed as you should when backing up and did no damage to it. Don't worry if your lane is the slowest one/there are lots of stops for others turning right. It will take you more time but you should be able to handle lower speeds more comfortably meanwhile you get used to driving. Leave way earlier than you need to arrive so you have no rush and once you get there worst case you can just grab a coffe/play with your phone to kill some time. 2.
